March 2022 Shows in Chicago, IL

By John Kuvakas

A big weekend is coming up in Chicago on Mar 19 & 20 for scale model collectors and Brooklinistas in particular.

Some of you may be familiar with the Countryside Collectors Classic Show that occurs in March and October in Countryside, IL. If so, then you know that Forum 43 has had a booth there since 2009. This year, we’ll be there again and our booth will again feature a Brooklin/NABCC table as well. We’re still working with Brooklin on what will be displayed this year. In the past, we’ve had the Riva Yachts, Maserati Steering wheels and a selection of new offerings from Brooklin. As soon as we find out what Brooklin will send, we’ll share it with you. The show is on Mar 20 at the Park Place of Countryside, 6200 Joliet Road, Countryside, IL 60525. Show times are 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, tickets are $7. But, you’ll want to gain early floor access at 7:30 AM. Those tickets are $20 but you get to see all the great models and deals as they are being put out for display. It’s an amazing experience.

The day before, Mar 19, we’ll be at the Third Annual 1/43 & Automobilia Show. Once again this year, it will be held in the Countryside Holiday Inn, 6201 Joliet Road, right across the street from Park Place. This show will have a strong emphasis on 1/43 model cars but will have several dealers showing automobilia as well. Admission to this show is $5. Kids under 13 get in free and there’s free parking in the hotel parking lot. Jeff Lane, show organizer is bringing in a display of brass masters for 1/43 models. He’s also planning a Creality 3D Printing demonstration as well as showing a Unimat Mini Lathe exercise. It’s going to be a great time!

Several people will be in town beginning Friday night. We’ll have an informal gathering for dinner Friday night at one of the local eateries. Saturday night we’ll all have a chance to attend happy hour at the hotel. If you’re interested in a room at the hotel, you can call them at 708-354-4200. Use the block room code CAR for a nice discount on your room.

If you plan to attend for the weekend, let us know (on Forum 43 or via email at ) so we can keep you in the loop on when and where we meet. We usually shuttle folks to and from the airports if you need a ride. If you just show up for the show, we would love to meet you. Stop by the booth and say, “Hi.” The booth has been a great place to meet and share our passion for little cars!
